Use a live timer to count down or up to a particular event/sale, creating urgency and encouraging conversions.

Timers can appear anywhere in the customer journey and across multiple touchpoints, including within emails!

Countdown to the last purchase day for guaranteed Christmas delivery.
Place a timer near the ‘Add to Basket’ button, reminding customers when a sale will end. Additionally, this might only be displayed to customers exhibiting certain types of browsing behaviour.
Create an email containing items that a customer has previously viewed, along with a countdown timer showing when your sale/free delivery period ends.
